Every day in Peru is a new experience for the traveller: the biodiversity of the area offers ever-changing natural scenarios, from desert dunes to spectacular lakes, from majestic volcanoes to sacred valleys to end with rainforests … an enchanting setting for an adventure that will leave you with wonderful memories. The inhabitants of Peru will welcome you with open arms, inviting you to participate in the countless folk festivals, to visit their traditional markets with the aromas and colours of their products. You will discover gastronomy recognized worldwide, with typical – and exquisite – dishes such as cebiche and rellena cause, and well-known drinks such as Pisco Sour.

Day 1: Arrival in Lima

Upon arrival at the airport, our staff will assist you in coordinating the transfer to the hotel. Once the whole group has arrived, an informative briefing will be held at the hotel to get to know each other and give you information on the complete tour and itinerary. 

Day 2: City tour of Lima and journey to Paracas 

After breakfast, departure of the city tour of Lima that begins with a visit to the historic centre and its colonial architecture. We will proceed with the external visit of the Government Palace and the Cathedral, Plaza San Martín, and Jiron de la Uñion. Then we will continue with the internal visit of the church of La Mercede, the monastery and the catacombs of San Francisco, and then watch the changing of the guard. After lunch, departure for Paracas. On the way, we will stop for photo stops along the coast. 

Day 3: Visit of the Ballestas Islands and arrival in Nazca 

After breakfast, departure early in the morning for the excursion to Paracas which begins with a visit to the Ballestas Islands. We will dedicate the excursion to the observation of the fauna, and you will be able to see specimens of cormorants, pelicans, gannets, sea lions and penguins. This excursion is carried out with collective motorboats – that is, there will be other people besides our group – and the guide will be in Spanish. During the excursion, you will also see the mysterious figure of the Candelabra, dating back to ancient civilizations, a figure that will appear on the side of a large dune and can be seen from the sea. After the excursion, transfer to Nazca. Once you arrive you will have the option of flying over the enigmatic lines, one of the mysteries of the modern world with a unique charm (duration 35 minutes). 

Day 4: Traveling to Arequipa 

Today the transfer will be quite long: after breakfast, in fact, we will begin the journey to Nazca. Our route will wind along the Peruvian coast, and we will take panoramic and photographic stops to admire the multicoloured desert landscapes and views of the Pacific Ocean that will leave you breathless for their spectacularity. 

Day 5: City tour of Arequipa 

Around 9.00 am, after breakfast, we start our tour visiting the Monastery of Santa Catalina, the local market of San Camilo, Plaza de Armas, Claustro of the compañía del Gesù and the Chapel of San Ignacio. After a traditional lunch, you will have some ‘free time.

Day 6: Colca Canyon Excursion 

After breakfast, a departure from the hotel is planned to head to the deepest canyon in the world, the Colca Canyon. Along the way we will make several stops: we will start from Pampa Cañahuas, located in the Reserva Nacional de Aguada Blanca, habitat of vicunas and alpacas. We will stop at the Mirador of the Volcanoes, located at 4910 masl, the highest point to appreciate the whole southern Peru Cordillera. We will then arrive in Chivay in the early afternoon, to enjoy lunch. 

Once in the hotel, you will then have free time to walk, rest, visit the surroundings, go freely to the spa or simply enjoy the landscapes of the Colca Valley. 

Day 7: Visit the Mirador of the Cruz del Condor and Puno

The day will begin with a spectacular visit to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor to observe the magical flight of the Andean Condor and appreciate the depth of the Colca Canyon. The journey will continue through ancestral communities, such as the countries of Yanque, Achoma, Maca and Pinchollo. On the way, you will make stops at several lookouts to observe tombs in the mountain, colonial churches and pre-Inca terraces. Later, we will leave for the highlands of Puno (4 and a half hours) and its highlands. We will stop in Lagunillas at 4500 m asl to observe a colony of pink flamingos (4 and a half hours) and we will stop for lunch in a lunch box. 

Day 8: Lake Titicaca and the community of Llachon

Early morning departure to begin an unforgettable motorboat excursion in Lake Titicaca, where we will visit the floating islands of the Uros, the ancient indigenous tribe of the lake. After the visit, we will continue sailing to the community of Llachon, located on the shore of the lake in the Capachica peninsula. Here we will appreciate the lake landscape and the company of the locals, with the opportunity to learn about their uses and to visit their rustic houses. A family will welcome us in his home and we will get to know their culture, their music, their dances, their weaving system and see the inhabitants at work in their daily activities. Lunch at a family home. We will then return to the city of Puno. 

Day 9: The Sun Route, from Puno to Cusco 

After breakfast we will leave for Cusco: we will cross different Andean countries and visit archaeological sites such as Pukara, where we will visit the local Lithic Museum “La Raya”. Here, you will appreciate a glance of the Andes and impressive glaciers. Continue with a visit to the Incaico archaeological centre of Raqchi and its famous “Temple of Wiracocha”. We will end the visits with the church of Andahualyllas, also called the Sistine Chapel of the Andes, and with the church of San Juan de Huaro in splendid Baroque style. 

Day 10: Cusco and the four ruins

We will start the day in Cusco with a visit to the temple of “Korikancha”, one of the most important places for Inca culture. We will continue with Plaza de Armas, the monastery, the art gallery and the Mercede museum and the archaeological centres of Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, Kenko and Sacsayhuaman (here every year on June 24 we celebrate the feast of the sun: Inti Raymi). Later we will visit the local market of San Pedro. 

Day 11: Towards Aguas Calientes with a stop in Urubamba

Today we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas; the first stop will be in the village of Chinchero, where we will visit the archaeological centre, and the Colonial Church, famous for its floral decorations. Later we will head towards the town of Maras, known as an ancient salt production centre since the time of the Spanish colony. Then we will reach the fascinating three terraces of Moray built like an amphitheatre by the Incas. Lunch in Urubamba and then visit Ollantaytambo to explore the ancient Inca fortress. Transfer to the train station from which, in an hour and a half, we will reach Aguas Calientes. 

Day 12: Excursion to Machu Picchu

The big day has arrived: today we will visit Machu Picchu. We will travel by bus to the incredible Machupicchu Sanctuary, also known as the hidden city of the Incas. We will start our guided tour with the Plaza Principal, the Circular Tower, the Sagrado Reloj Solar, Los cuartos reales, the Templo de las Tres Ventanas and cemeteries. The tour lasts about two and a half hours. You will have free time to visit the citadel alone. Optionally you can go up to Huayna Picchu, with its magnificent and unique panoramic view. In the afternoon we return to Agua Calientes where we will begin the return journey by train. 

Day 13: Return to Lima

After breakfast, you will have free time in Cusco for the last purchases, rest or walk in the magical capital of Incas for the last time. Transfer to the airport for the Cusco-Lima flight. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel in Lima and free time.
